Che bello! This is another jaw-dropping renovation of a Parisian residential space. The cutting-edge design by Marcante-Testa highlights, rather than conceals the original character of the 1930s property. The designers re-functionalized the apartment, while minimizing the number of walls. A rack system made of metal sections and perforated sheet metal is set freely into the space. The new structures are designed for seeing, but not for being seen, separating transition zones from rest and private areas, thus creating separate premises for each member of the household. The movable elements are placed alongside characteristic decorative features of French homes, such as wall stuccos and cornices. I love also love the muted, but distinct color scheme - not to speak of the furniture! Part 2 will follow soon… Designer: Andrea Marcante (founder of UdA architetti) and Adelaide Testa Collaborators: Eirini Giannakopoulou, Giada Mazzero Photographer: Karel Balas ...
Italian-born fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia merges Italian style with Scandinavian interior design aesthetics in her Stockholm home. I especially love the setting of the Prouvé daybed in the sitting room and the mirrored master bathroom with the free-standing bathtub. Images via Architectural Digest. ...
